If your ideal Friday involves familiar songs and a reason to get out of the house, downtown DeKalb has a straightforward option: Mamma Mania – The American Tribute to ABBA at the Egyptian Theatre.

The venue’s event page lists Friday, October 9, at 7:30 p.m. The theatre is at 135 N. Second Street, giving residents a local concert destination rather than a long drive for an evening’s entertainment.

Build the evening around the show

Start by checking tickets, then decide whether you want dinner beforehand or simply to meet friends at the theatre. Keeping the concert as the anchor makes the rest of the plan easier to arrange.

Give your dinner reservation enough breathing room to finish, travel to the theatre and find your seats before the advertised start. A 7:30 performance should not become a 7:30 arrival target.

The performer’s own calendar also lists the Egyptian Theatre date. This is an ABBA tribute performance, so the appeal is a night built around the Swedish group's music.

Check tickets directly

Use the theatre’s official ticketing site for the current seat choices and total cost. Prices and live seat inventory were not available in the accessible listing when checked October 4; no particular price or availability is promised here.

If the online listing does not answer your question, contact the box office before committing to the rest of your plans. Check accessibility arrangements and any arrival instructions at the same time.

Friday’s show is a useful alternative when you want a scheduled night out with a clear destination. Pick your companions, settle the tickets, and let the evening take shape around the music.

All times are Central. Recheck the venue listing before leaving.
